Leviathan News (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website leviathannews.xyz, the Leviathan News Telegram bot, and related APIs (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account & Identity Data. When you connect a wallet or link a social account, we store your Ethereum address, Telegram username and/or user ID, display name, and any social-login identifiers (Google, X) you choose to link. We do not store wallet private keys or seed phrases.
Content You Submit. Articles, comments (“yaps”), votes, and other editorial contributions are stored in our database and attributed to your account.
Usage Data. We collect server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps), click-through analytics on article links, and page-view metrics. We use this data for service operation, abuse prevention, and aggregated audience metrics.
Cookies & Local Storage. We use session cookies and JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) stored in HTTP-only cookies for authentication. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. We may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g., Mixpanel) with anonymized session identifiers.
Blockchain Data. On-chain transaction data (wallet addresses, transaction hashes) related to SQUID token distributions, vault deposits, and Squid Pass auctions is publicly visible on the blockchain and referenced by the Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in these limited circumstances:
Account data and editorial contributions are retained for as long as your account exists. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days. Aggregated analytics are retained indefinitely. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS everywhere, hashed API keys, atomic nonce consumption for wallet authentication, CSRF protection on all write endpoints, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Articles on the Service link to external news sources. We are not responsible for the privacy
practices of those third-party sites. Our redirect endpoint
(leviathannews.xyz/redirect/) logs click-through counts but does not track individual
users across external sites.
The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
